The BMVI broadband atlas visualises the situation of broadband supply in Germany.
The availability of broadband is visualized by the percentage of homes that can be supplied in coloured cells, each representing an area of 250 *250m. Uninhabited areas without any homes are not displayed.
The broadband atlas plays a central role as source of information regarding the broadband availability in Germany. It illustrates through interactive maps, which technologies and bandwidths are locally available for data transmission. The data of broadband availability is collected from telecommunication providers on a voluntary basis, then preprocessed and visualised based on technical parameters and coverage.
